Salary: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

A. General
​
This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position that will report to the Chief Operations Officer and
work closely with all departments to oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment
and hiring, terminations, employment contracts, employee relations, payroll, HR information
systems, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations and retention;
employee orientation and ongoing, job-specific training and development programs, in addition to
the profitable operation of the HR department, and compliance with applicable employment laws
and regulations. The Specialist is responsible for effectively planning, designing, developing and
evaluating human resource-related initiatives that support the company’s strategic goals. This
people operations-centered senior HR executive role is seen as the most trusted partner of the
COO in leading a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with the company’s
vision and values

documentation and records.

B. Duties and Responsibilities:
​
• Regularly reviews and makes recommendations to the executive leadership team for
improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures
organization’s compliance. Communicates changes in policies and procedures and ensures
proper compliance. Stay up to date with changes in labor legislation and advise the
organization on necessary adjustments.
• Oversees investigations related to misconduct, discrimination, sexual harassment and other
personnel matters. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by executive
management. Serves as an advisor to leadership and staff on employee relations issues.
• Provides guidance and advisement to leaders on providing feedback on employee’s
performance.
• Investigates, addresses, and resolves conflicts and provides feedback on grievances, discipline
and discrimination issues. Responds to employees' inquiries and information requests and
advises leadership on HR policies and procedures.
• Oversee HR operations, including HRIS management, payroll administration, and compliance
with HR policies and procedures.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement,
diversity, and belonging. Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and
investigations. Handle confidential matters with discretion.
• Perform other HR duties, as assigned.
C. Skills and Qualifications
​
• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources, including 5 years' of experience in
responsible management of similar functions.
• Demonstrated experience establishing and/or managing the full scope of HR responsibilities,
including, but not limited to recruiting, benefits administration, policy development, HR
systems, Learning & Development, employee relations, payroll administration, employment
contracts, knowledge of employment laws and regulations, etc.
• Strong leadership, organizational, critical thinking, and communications skills.
• Passion, understanding, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Ability to shift focus quickly as needed and support multiple searches in a wide variety of
roles. Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand the
business environment, strategy and people initiatives.
• Strong relationship building skills and demonstrated ability to effectively build trust and
credibility with senior level management.
• Expertise in developing and managing innovative HR programs, initiatives and solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrable understanding and application of employment and labor laws.
• Knowledge and practical application of organizational effectiveness and change management
methodologies and tools. Attention to detail and good judgement.
• Exceptional consultation, coaching, facilitation, organizational and change management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and utilizing HRIS systems.
• Excellent project management skills.
